Take control of your bills

SOLAR IS A RENEWABLE, CLEAN WAY TO PRODUCE ENERGY, SAVE MONEY & TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BILLS.

Think of it as renting a home vs. buying a home. Instead of renting your power from SDG&E, take control of your bills in making your own power and owning it. Our rate will never go up, so you will save more money if you make your own power with solar on your home.

THE BENEFITS OF GOING SOLAR

Clean Energy

Solar is a renewable, clean way to produce energy by attracting energy from the sun to photovoltaic cells (solar panels) which is then through electrical components converted from AC to DC energy. This is because the sun shines everyday and you don’t need to use dirty energy produced from coal and fossil fuels which are created from power plants.

Save Money

We buy most of our energy from out of state which means as consumers we have to pay more in shipping fees. We only have about 40% of clean energy being produced from solar, wind and nuclear energy. Ultimately we will save more money if we make our own power with solar on our homes ( because our rate will never go up ) than buying it from a power company

WHAT YOU’RE PAYING FOR

YOUR BILL BREAKDOWN

Do you need more simplification for that?

  • 50% to make the power at the powerplant

  • 25% to transfer the power from distribution to their home

  • 15% from transmission lines

  • 5% for the public purpose program to approve the rate increase

  • 1% for  nuclear decomissioning of the power planet going down

  • 1% for the competition which is solar

  • 3% for bond charges and local generation charge

What this means:

.55 cents from 4-9 pm (Time of Use)
.47 cents for the next 400 kWh
.27 cents for the first 400 kWh

FAQs

What is a qualified home owner?

Owns the home, Credit of 650 or higher.A: Credit of 650 or higher, ( may qualify if low credit but has paid mortgage on time for the last two years) $50 SDG&E bill, a place on the roof or property to put the solar, a decent roof ( we have roofers that can fix and possibly get the cost covered depending on the system size) an electric panel that is normally 100 amp or higher ( may qualify for a free upgrade if needed) and must own the home or get approval from the home owner.

What if I am on a medical baseline or CARE program?

Rates with SDGE go up 8-40% per year. You will definitely still save by going solar because your rate won’t go up!

Is it a good idea to go solar if I am moving in the next 1-2 years or renting it out?

Solar is great if you’re moving because it adds value to your house! Think about it this way -if you had the option of two great home but one had an electric bill of 30-100% cheaper than the other, which one would you choose??

If you’re renting it out, you can add the cost of rent to your solar bill and they pay for cheaper power.

How much will this cost me?

No upfront cost for qualified home owners! The monthly payments can be 10-60% cheaper than your SDGE bill.

How can I save money?

It’s simple. SDGE has the highest rates in the nation (even higher than Hawaii)For example, Tier 1 rates are at .26-.29 cents, when you use over 469 kwh you get placed in Tier 2 and purchase it at Tier 2 which is .35 cents per kwh, and finally from 4-9 pm you are charged .55 cents per kwh Therefore, with solar your getting a locked in rate for at least 25 years. You don’t have to spend money to save it. Do a PPA or a loan and you will save right away!
